Frequently Asked Questions
A: ReviewYou is a service that provides recording artists with insightful, honest, excellently-written reviews of their albums and singles. Our reviews are a blend of the Writer’s opinion of the music and a technical critique of its merit, and are written by members of our seasoned, music-crazy stable of Writers. ReviewYou focuses solely on albums and singles, and does not write press releases or review DVDs, concerts, or venues.*
ReviewYou is not a PR firm. We do not place your reviews in magazines, newspapers, blogs, or any other form of publication. We simply get the review written, and put it in your hands.
*ReviewYou is now offering Bio writing services in addition to reviews. If you have any questions about the Bio writing service please email the ReviewYou Editor.
A: The ReviewYou editor will email you with instructions based on your preferred method of submission (digital or physical). Please do not send albums to the Review You office.
A: Once you have ordered your review(s), you will receive an *email confirming your order and requesting additional information pertaining to your review. A: That depends on your music and the Writer’s perception of it. Your album will be put in the hands of a Writer who is experienced in writing about the the genre(s) that your music fits into, so you can be assured of it receiving fair and knowledgeable consideration. We guarantee you an insightful, honest, professionally-written review, but due to the subjective nature of opinion-based writing, we make no guarantees about the positive or negative tone that your review may have.

A: The Writers will review the entire album, with the vast majority of the songs, many times all of them, being specifically reviewed by name in the review. If one or two songs are not specifically mentioned in the review they were still listened to and reviewed and contributed to the Writers overall opinions about the album. However, a track by track review is not always delivered.
A: The long form bios are between 800-1000 words and the short form bios are between 300-500 words.
A: By their name and ReviewYou, or by their name alone. For example, “Alec Cunningham, Review You” or “Alec Cunningham.”
A: It depends on what you don’t like about it. If you feel the review is poorly-written as far as grammar, syntax, structure, and other technical elements, the ReviewYou Editor will assess the technical merit of the review and make adjustments, if necessary.
If you disagree with the Writer’s opinion of your music, or feel that the review is unfair, the ReviewYou Editor will assess your complaint. Due to the subjective nature of opinion-based writing, we handle these issues on a case-by-case basis.
And you can always take a quote(s) from the review and use that in your press kit if you do not wish to post the entire review.
A: It is ReviewYou policy to handle these requests on a case by case basis, and is left to the sole discretion of the ReviewYou Editor.
A: A full refund will be issued via PayPal to Customers who decide against their purchase prior to the time the Writer has submitted the review or Bio to the ReviewYou Editor.
